Code of conduct

At Northeast Pet & Handler events, we are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment where all participants feel safe, respected, and valued. Our Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior expected from all attendees to ensure a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Non-Discrimination and Inclusivity

  • We do not tolerate discrimination, prejudice, or bias of any kind. Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, socio-economic status, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited.

  • Embrace diversity and celebrate the unique perspectives and backgrounds of all attendees. Engage in inclusive language and actions that promote a sense of belonging for everyone.

Respect for Physical Consent and Personal Boundaries

  • Respect personal space and boundaries at all times. Always ask for explicit consent before initiating any form of physical contact, and be prepared to accept a refusal gracefully.

  • Harassment, unwanted advances, or any behavior that makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe will not be tolerated.

  • Always assume that verbal consent is required, and just because it was previously given do not assume consent is indefinite.

  • Sexual or suggestive contact should always be negotiated. Unwelcome sexual attention is harassment.

  • This space is provided to help all in attendance to explore and enjoy the human pet, pup, and critter scene. Those who share our space need to be aware that there may be blatant displays of kink and sexuality. If this kind of open environment is of concern, we would recommend that you not attend.

Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech and Harmful Behavior

  • Hate speech, derogatory language, or any form of verbal or written communication that promotes discrimination, violence, or intolerance is strictly prohibited.

  • Refrain from engaging in behavior that could cause harm, distress, or offense to others, including but not limited to bullying, intimidation, or malicious gossip.

Responsible Consumption and Substance Use

  • We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding illegal substances. Any person found to be selling, using, or otherwise distributing any controlled substance will be immediately removed from the event and reported to local authorities.Respect for Property and Venue

  • Treat the venue, equipment, and facilities with care and respect. Clean up after yourself, dispose of trash properly, and refrain from causing any damage to the property.

  • Follow any guidelines or instructions provided by the event organizers regarding the use of the venue and its amenities.

Photography and Video

  • Do not photograph or video record anyone who has not given you express consent.

  • Do not tag people on social media without their express consent.

  • There is an event photographer who will be taking photos and doing their best to blur out those that don’t wish to have their photos taken – please let the photographer know in advance.

  • If you accidentally photograph or video someone in the background, and they have not given you express consent, crop or edit them out.

Conflict Resolution and Reporting Procedures

  • If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, report it to the event organizers or designated staff members immediately. You may also email info@nepah.org to file a report

If you witness, are subject to, or have questions about unacceptable behavior, please seek out a NEPAH staff. NEPAH Staff will keep any reports confidential.

If individuals or groups are found in violation of this Code of Conduct, our Diversity & Inclusion Policy, or any other policies, after an investigation by NEPAH,  they may be warned, immediately dismissed from the event without refund, or if the infraction is serious enough the authorities may be contacted.
